After Walter J. Levy's retirement in 1984, he moved to LASMO as an economist working on the company's activities around the world and was responsible for oil and gas market analysis for all of LASMO's markets, including North and South America, Europe and the Far East.As well as working on numerous exploration and development decisions, asset valuations, and acquisitions and disposals, he was part of the team that evaluated and negotiated LASMO's entry into Algeria and he was responsible for the valuation of the assets of Thomson North Sea, which was acquired in 1988.
He became Economics Manager of LASMO North Sea from its inception in 1989 and was closely involved in the asset rationalisation and disposal programmes following the acquisition of Thomson North Sea and Ultramar.In 1997 he became Commercial Manager for LASMO's Libyan operations, including the major Elephant Field development project.During this time he also had commercial responsibility for the company's non-operated floating production systems in the North Sea.
At Challenge Mark utilises his skills to generate economic models for clients and to analyse and recommend fiscal structures.
