Marcia Levy is the director of the Columbus Pre-School. She has a B.A. in early childhood education from Queens College and a M.A. in child development from Sarah Lawrence College. Marcia is a certified teacher and has more than 30 years experience in early childhood education. Before coming to Columbus Pre-School, she worked at the Sarah Lawrence College Early Childhood Center as a lead teacher for 17 years and as the summer program director for 16 years. -

Marcia Levy Early Childhood Center Director
Marcia Levy joined the staff at WRT on July 1, 2003. She grew up in Queens, attended Queens College and majored in early childhood education, and began her teaching career in 1973 as a 3's/4's teacher at the Bronx YM/YWHA. In 1974, Marcia and her husband Howard moved to Bologna, Italy. In her five years there, she created a program for American preschoolers and taught ESL to Italian children and adults.
When Marcia returned to New York, she continued working in early childhood education, teaching toddlers in a Mommy and Me program. She and her family moved to Westchester and she began graduate school at Sarah Lawrence College. In 1986, she received her M.S. in Child Development and became a lead teacher at the Early Childhood Center Laboratory School at Sarah Lawrence. She went on to become the Summer Program Director and has held that position for sixteen years.
Marcia is also involved in her community with her work at synagogue KTI and as an outreach service coordinator for the Allergy and Asthma Network-Mothers of Asthmatics.
She has been married for thirty years to Dr. Howard Levy, the veterinarian at Port Chester-Rye Town Animal Hospital. They have three sons - David, an attorney in Manhattan, Jonathan, an aspiring actor who s graduating from Skidmore College this month, and Daniel, a seventh grader who is presently preparing for his Bar Mitzvah.
