   HOUSTON [June 14, 2004] -- ExxonMobil Chemical Company announced that it has appointed Irwin L. Levowitz as global sales manager, Polyethylene. In this position Levowitz will bring his global business experience to the full range of low, linear low and high-density polyethylene polymers.
   
   This leadership role recognizes that some of the sales representation and management needs of the industry are evolving to be global in scope. While Levowitz will lead global sales management issues, regional sales representation will continue to be managed locally.

   Levowitz joined Exxon at the Baton Rouge refinery in 1964. After a number of senior positions with Exxon in the United States, he transferred to Hong Kong in 1983 as vice president for Agricultural Chemicals and Financial Services for Exxon Chemical Asia Pacific. In 1985, he was named executive vice president responsible for Agricultural Chemicals, Aromatics, Olefins, Plastics, Engineering, Feed/Fuels and the financial functions. He was appointed New Business Ventures vice president for Exxon Chemical's Performance Products Business Group based in Darien, Connecticut in 1987. In 1990, Levowitz was appointed vice president Polyethylene, Polyolefins Americas, Exxon Chemical Company. Prior to his most recent appointment, he was commercial manager, Polyethylene Americas, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, a position he has held since 2002.
