Appointed Assistant Commissioner for State and Local Operations in the New Jersey Department of Personnel in July 1994, Ms. Levosky had responsibility for planning and management for 75,000 state and 117,000 local government employees in the areas of classification, compensation, recruitment, selection and human resource information systems.Ms. Levosky's leadership provided strategic direction for major organizational changes and the revamping of every function within the New Jersey Civil Service Merit System with an eye toward improved responsiveness for both government agencies and public job seekers.
Ms. Levosky was promoted to the position of Deputy Commissioner, the second highest-ranking human resource appointee in the State of New Jersey in 1996.In her new role, she was given the added responsibilities of strategic planning and research, training and development and operation of the Human Resource Development Institute.
