Edward D. Levinson Edward Levinson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1958 with a Master of Architecture degree in Civic Design. Early in his career, he worked for several Philadelphia architectural firms: Wright, Andrade, and Amenta; Roth and Fleisher; and Supowitz and Demchick.

In 1965, he became the head of the architectural department of Sanders and Thomas, where he was the Project Administrator in charge of the Urban Renewal Program for a section of Philadelphia. And in 1969, he began a private architectural practice, which has included residential and commercial design work and professional consultation. When Hurricane Andrew devastated Florida, Mr. Levinson was on the scene providing damage assessment, analysis of building code compliance, and structural research aimed at preventing future damage.

As part of his architectural work, Mr. Levinson has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, England and Wales, Western and Eastern Europe, Mexico, Panama, South America, Russia, Turkey, and Yugoslavia. During these travels, he has taken over 50,000 slides, made sketches, and filmed locations, which have then been used in his multi-media productions, including "Urbanization" and "Myths of Technology."

His community activities include participation in the White House Conference on Domestic Affairs, State of Florida Historic Preservation conferences, national and state conferences of the American Association for State and Local History, solar energy conferences, and architectural/urban lectures to civic organizations.

Mr. Levinson has held teaching positions at the T-Square Club of Philadelphia, Temple University, Florida International University, Miami-Dade Community College, and the University of Miami. He has been recognized as a Master Teacher and has received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Department of Architecture and the Phi Theta Kappa Outstanding Faculty member award. In 1994, Mr. Levinson was awarded an Endowed Teaching Chair in Architecture at Miami-Dade Community College.

Mr. Levinson has received grants from the Florida Citizen's Committee for the Humanities to fund his multi-media presentation, "Urbanization: An Architect's Agonizing Appraisal of Florida," and from the National Endowment for the Humanities for "Understanding Architecture: The Past and the Present With a Glimpse into the Future," an interactive computer program for students.

While accomplishing all this, he has still found the time to express his artistic talents with oil paintings, sketches, and lithographs that have been exhibited in New York, Philadelphia, Miami, and Caracas.
