Brenda Leung, N.D.
Brenda Leung is a graduate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario.In her clinical practice, she incorporated a full range of therapies, including acupuncture, botanical medicine, homeopathy and hydrotherapy in addition to clinical nutrition & orthomolecular medicines.Presently, she is pursuing a master's degree in Community Health at the University of Calgary.Her areas of interest are integrative health care systems, children's healthcare issues, and the concept of the meaning and role of evidence in complementary and alternative healthcare (CAHC).Her present research topics include the used of naturopathic medicine in children, strategies for improving research literacy and capacity in CAHC practitioners, and a clinical trial of a natural health product in breast cancer patients.Dr. Leung has been an instructor and clinic supervisor at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.She has also given public lectures on topics such as raising a healthy child, stress and health, natural ways to combat the cold and flu season, and natural therapies for depression and other mental disorders.She has published articles on cancer adjunct therapies, natural treatment for psoriasis and diabetes, and nutrition for teens.She is a member of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC, the Canadian Interdisciplinary Network for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research, the Canadian Paediatrics Complementary & Alternative Medicine network, Complementary & Alternative Medicine education and research network of Alberta, the Cancer in CAM research group and the Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance of Canada.
