David R. Leffard, IIdleffard@headcompanies.com Chief Financial Officer, BS ('78), Auburn University, MS Taxation ('82), University of Baltimore, CPA.Prior to joining Head Companies in 1998, Leffard was employed in public accounting and in executive financial and management roles in a privately owned commercial real estate development and finance company.

As a tax manager with a national public accounting firm, his practice was primarily in the area of tax planning for closely held companies and their owners.Later, he was employed as Vice President and tax officer for the then largest privately held stevedoring group in the United States.In this role he supervised compliance and planning for a 35-company consolidated group with operations in 20 states, as well and several foreign countries.

As Vice President of accounting and finance for a privately held investment group, he oversaw operational accounting, construction financing and permanent financing for both commercial and resort residential developments.At Head, Mr. Leffard is responsible for administrative, accounting and financial matters for all Head Companies projects.

Prior to joining Head Companies in 1998, Mr. Leffard was employed in public accounting and in executive financial and management roles in a privately owned commercial real estate development and finance company.

Ashwood Development Company today announced the hiring of its new chief financial officer, David Leffard.

Leffard brings to Ashwood over 30 years of business experience as a senior financial leader, with a broad background both in public accounting and in real estate development and construction.Most recently Leffard served as the CFO for Head Companies in Mobile, Alabama, where for 9 years he directed corporate strategic planning, development financing, and acquisition analysis.Leffard holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Auburn University, and a Master in Taxation from the University of Baltimore.

David Leffard joined Ashwood Development in 2007 as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for all accounting and financial functions including corporate strategic planning, development evaluation and tax accounting. Prior to joining Ashwood, David was Chief Financial Officer of Head Companies, LLC out of Pt. Clear, AL where he spent 10 years handing multi-level financial structures, joint venture arrangements and managing a staff of seven. David is a Certified Public Accountant and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Auburn University. David reside in Kennesaw, Georgia with his wife and they enjoy travel, wine tastings and college football.
