LEDOUX NAMED SBU'S VICE PRESIDENT FOR UNIVERSITY MINISTRIESTo begin term July 1ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y., March 1, 2002 - St. Bonaventure University president Dr. Robert J. Wickenheiser has announced that Fr. Michael Ledoux, O.F.M., Ed.D., currently director of The Neumann Institute for Franciscan Studies and associate professor at Neumann College, will join the University as vice president for University ministries on July 1.

Wickenheiser noted that Fr. Ledoux is a member of Immaculate Conception Province, one of the founding provinces of the University.

Fr. Ledoux has served a year as director of The Neumann Institute, founded to preserve the college's Franciscan tradition.It is responsible for faculty seminars, the publication of Franciscan resources for faculty and sponsorship of lectures on the Franciscan intellectual tradition.He teaches in the college's Division of Education and will also serve as a lecturer in St. Bonaventure's School of Education, bringing expertise in educational leadership and a special interest in a Franciscan approach to education, teaching and culture.
Fr. Ledoux has spent three years as an adjunct professor and online resource specialist for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pa., where he earned a doctorate in educational leadership.His dissertation focused on "The Connections Among Education, Culture, and Evangelization: A Franciscan Approach."He also holds a master of divinity degree from the Weston School of Theology, Cambridge, Mass., and a bachelor of arts degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass.
He previously served five years as headmaster of Serra Catholic High School, McKeesport, Pa.; two years each as pastor of St. Pamphilus Parish, Pittsburgh, director of justice and peace for the Conference of Major Superiors of Men, USA, and as educational consultant and pastoral associate in Guatemala and El Salvador; and three years as principal of St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary, Derry, N.H.
