Ellen Lederman (Fund Manager) is a Managing Director with ShoreBank Advisory Services UK (SAS), She is responsible for focusing on community development finance, affordable and social housing, social enterprises and economic regeneration.
Ms. Lederman has co-authored a guide to finance for social enterprises; provides management for BIGInvest; and various consulting assignments.SAS has been involved in establishing and staff training for ASPIRE, a case study report of bank financing of social enterprises for the DTI, training of CDFIs and working with the Social Investment Task Force on policy issues.Ms. Lederman sits on the board of the Suffolk Regeneration Trust and on the advisory council to Change, a CDFI being developed by London based housing associations to deal with financial inclusion.
Ms. Lederman has also been responsible for structuring and raising the capital of ShoreCap International, a ShoreBank affiliate investment company focusing on financial institutions assisting micro and small businesses and underwrote an investment in a bank focusing on small businesses and low income individuals in Armenia.Ms. Lederman has conducted various assignments in the microfinance field including assessment of the Bosnian micro-credit sector; development of risk management systems in Bangladesh and Uganda.
Prior to joining ShoreBank, Ms. Lederman was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan and has also worked for the International Finance Corporation and Drexel Burnham Lambert.Ms. Lederman has a Masters from Princeton Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs, a Masters from M.I.T. Sloan School of Management, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University majoring in Economics.Ms. Lederman has completed several trainings on bank performance and management with the American Bankers Association.
