Fred L. LeClair, President of Tembec's Forest Products Group stated that he is pleased with the addition of Davidson and its employees."It fits well with Tembec's strategy to grow its hardwood and softwood specialty products division.We will be able to offer a complete range of dimensions and grades of white and red pine products, hardwood lumber and high quality hardwood flooring.As well, Mr. Louis Campeau, currently President of Davidson, will assume responsibility for Tembec's specialty wood products division" said Mr. LeClair.
The Davidson acquisition establishes Tembec as the leading Canadian producer of specialty wood products, which now includes eight operating facilities.In addition to those mentioned above, the Tembec specialty wood products division also includes a pine and hardwood sawmill in Mattawa, Ontario, a hardwood flooring plant in Huntsville, Ontario, a pine and hardwood sawmill in Temiscaming, Quebec, a pre-finished hardwood flooring plant in Toronto, Ontario, and a lumber remanufacturing plant in Brantford, Ontario.
