Dan Lechleiter concentrates his practice in intellectual property, with a focus on intellectual property litigation.He also has experience in the preparation and prosecution of patents relating to mechanical devices and business methods.
At The John Marshall Law School, Dan focused his academic interests on intellectual property, including studies in patent and trade secret law, copyright and trademark law, antitrust law and intellectual property drafting.At the University of Dayton, Dan earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, which included:
A summer internship in the Gas Turbine Engine Division of Rolls-Royce Corp., where he updated and revised quality control processes for Model 250 gas turbine engines.A co-op with the Environmental Products Group of YSI Inc., where he gained experience in mechanical and electrical design, testing and manufacturing for the manufacturer of biomedical and environmental monitoring devices. After college graduation, Dan became a full-time mechanical engineer with YSI.He designed new products and manufacturing equipment, improved existing products and drafted manufacturing and testing processes and technical reports.His work culminated as an inventor in U.S. Patent No. 6,779,383, "Wiper and Brush Device for Cleaning Water Quality Sensors."
