Christopher LeBrun
Le Brun was born in Portsmouth, England in 1951. He studied at the Slade School of Art and was one of the leading figures to emerge in the early 1980s. Following his first one-man show in 1980, Le Brun rapidly established an international reputation, exhibiting worldwide in many of the major survey shows of the decade, from Berlin to Los Angeles, and receiving major commissions and honors. He is a former trustee of the Tate Gallery and a trustee of the National Gallery [London] and the famed Dulwich Picture Gallery [London]. He was elected to the Royal Academy of arts in 1996.
