Bruno Lebrun is a Partner in Howrey LLP's Brussels office.He has more than 10 years experience representing clients in a wide range of industries including, bio-technology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, financial services, luxury goods, aviation, automotive, and retail distribution.His practice focuses on antitrust and EU law in general, including both litigation and government experience.Mr. Lebrun is distinguished as a leading Competition/Antitrust lawyer in Chambers Global.
Mr. Lebrun was admitted to the Brussels Bar in June 1994.He started his career in Paris where he represented a number of international and French clients before the French competition authority (Conseil de la Concurrence) and French courts.After more than three years in Paris, Mr. Lebrun returned to Brussels where he practised with Freshfields and subsequently with Norton Rose.He joined Howrey in 2002.
Mr. Lebrun is extremely active in the cartel arena.He also represents European and US clients in merger cases before the European Commission and national competition agencies.Mr. Lebrun advises on complex joint venture issues linked to Article 81 EC and handles numerous cases involving both antitrust and intellectual property (R&D, technology transfer and trade mark).He counsels corporations in a dominant position on their rights and obligations.
Mr. Lebrun's practice also includes general EU matters.He has represented various clients in disputes relating to parallel imports or data protection, and has defended credit and financial institutions in free movement of services cases.
Mr. Lebrun graduated from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (1992) and obtained a Master in European Law at the Institut d'Etudes européennes (Université Libre de Bruxelles) (1993).A native of Belgium, he is fluent in French and English and has a good knowledge of Dutch.
