Dick Lebold, president of the Bolivar Renaissance, said the pedestrian bridge over I-77 near Bolivar should be open in June.

BOLIVAR - Richard Lebold, president of the Bolivar Renaissance and Strawberry Festival Committee, gave council an update Monday night on several upcoming meetings pertaining to village activities.

Lebold said the Strawberry Festival will be held June 16-17 on Canal St. A meeting will be held tonight at 7 in the town hall with the food vendors, crafters, business representatives and other interested parties.

On Thursday at 5:30, the Floyd Brown Group from Akron will give a presentation about the Burfield farmland subdivision.

A meeting will be held with Urban Design of Northeast Ohio about the master plan for the revitalization of downtown Bolivar on Feb. 27 at 7 in the Bolivar American Legion on Canal St.

Lebold also discussed a mailbox erected in a brick structure at property on Fort Laurens Rd. inside the village corporation.He said the structure has been placed over utility lines and the new property owners did not apply for a permit.
