  Phil Jackson is an accomplished rapper, songwriter and musician.He has been writing and performing since the age of 16.He is also a drummer, playing for over 10 years.Phil Jackson has had the ability to share his rap ministry in the Maryland and DC area.He has had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Sons of Thunder, Kim Jordan, Rob Mercer, Vytal MC, Ebony Jackson as well as others.Phil grew up in a Christian home; and he felt that because he did not grow up on the streets, or selling drugs that his rap ministry would not be effective.That played a discouragement in his life, and he thought that his rap ministry would not be effective.But after going to a concert and hearing a Christian Hip Hop artist share a testimony of his life and how he grew up in a Christian home, that brought encouragement to Phil's life, and since then lives have been changed by the Phil's music ministry.Phil had the opportunity to go on the "He Knows...2006" summer tour with the singing group One Voice from Washington Bible College where they had the chance to share their music ministry in different states such as Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, just to name a few.Phil currently has released "Free to Praise" which was released in 2005, and he is currently in the studio writing for his next project "The Call" to be released in 2008.God has placed people in Phil's life that have had a great affect on this upcoming project.Phil Jackson also owns his own production company, Free to Praise Productions.

  Pastor Phil was called to be the Senior Minister at First Church in February of 2003.Prior to coming to Yarmouth Port, he has served churches in Malta, Montana; Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Hanson, Massachusetts.Previous to Yarmouth Port he served as the Associate Secretary of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  
  Phil is a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts and has done extensive Doctoral work at Hartford Seminary.
  
  He has been married to his wife Michelle for 27 years and they have two grown children.Pastor Phil makes the most of Cape Cod by fishing, kayaking and swimming.

  "It's horrible it's closing down," Phil Jackson, associate pastor at Lawndale Community Church, said of the location in his neighborhood."We can't stand for that place to be closing down.It's jobs.We've got college students working there, adults that have management skills that can be seen and observed by Starbucks.They could run their own store one day."
  
  Jackson said Starbucks must have known the store would need time to prosper.
  
  "The people in the community have to make it family, make it a part of their own, and sometimes that takes longer than a year and a half," he said.
