Mr. Leatherman was elected in 2000.He, his wife Lisa and three sons are the fourth generation to live in the family home in Cowee.He attended Mars Hill College and graduated from Western Carolina University.He is the owner of Leatherman's Tax Service.Mr. Leatherman actively served in Operation Desert Storm as a member of the National Guard and is active with the N.C. Baptist Disaster Relief Program and World Changers.Commissioner Leatherman represents the Board on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee, Macon Citizens for the Handicapped, Nantahala Recreation Commission, Board of Education, Transit Services, Welfare Reform Committee, the Otto Communty School Review Committee and Housing Task Force.
