The guest lecturer will be Richard LeVene, retired chairman of Theatre Department at Florida Southern College.The lecture/seminar will expose the students to a lecture concerning the reasons, both theatrically and dramatically, behind the realistic movement which has become the most pervasive movement in theatrical history.Subsequently, the students will be involved in seminars examining the two playwrights most influential in the early development of this movement.LeVene suggests that you read Henrik Ibsen's, "A Doll House" and "Ghosts," as well as Anton Chekhov's "The Sea Gull" and "The Cherry Orchard" to get the most out of the lecture/seminar.
