VII. Judith Glickman introduced Julie LeVay, of Whaley-LeVay, who is conducting the school's development/communications audit.
Ms. LeVay gave an overview of her audit to date and stated a complete report will be submitted to the school October 31.
Ms. LeVay stated her goal was to examine the development staff, public relations, solicitation programs, development systems-fund raising, and volunteer roles. She stated she conducted confidential interviews with staff, administrators, public relations, communications, and volunteers to determine what is working and what isn't.
...
Ms. LeVay had three initial findings from her interviews:
1. The school is a child-centered place; more that just academics.
2. A case for philanthropy has not been made very strongly for Country Day.
- There is not a long tradition of giving.
