Shabbat afternoon, May 11, 6:45 Halakhic standards for the Conservative Movement are established by the Committee on Jewish Law and Standards, which meets in New York four times a year.It is composed of 25 voting rabbis and 5 non-voting lay people.Fred Lawrence is a member of the Law Committee.Here he will talk to us about the Law Committee, how it works in practice, and its impact on the Conservative Movement.His focus will be a teshuvah (legal decision).Preceded by mincha and se'udah sh'lishit (light refreshments).
