Fred Lawrence and his wife, Jeanine have lived in Meadow Bend since July of 1992 after retirement from Philips. Fred graduated from City College of New York as a chemical engineer. He was elected to the MB Board 1996-1997, re-elected in 1998 but had to resign for health reasons. Now recovered, he is again on the board. His hobbies are stamp collecting and volunteering at church, Galveston Grand Opera House, AARP Tax-Aide counselor and MeadowBend.
