Paula Lane

Paula Lane, RN, BAS, is the new clinical nurse manager of ICU/CCU at Mercy Memorial Hospital.She joins MMH from Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, where she was the clinical nurse manager of the emergency department.A graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing and Siena Heights University, Paula spent nine years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, working in neuro ICU and then the emergency department. She then went to Riverside Osteopathic Hospital, where she worked for 11 years.She held a management position overseeing the medical/surgical telemetry unit, and also served as director of the emergency department and ICU.She remained at Riverside until the hospital closed in November of 2002. In her position, Paula has set some specific goals for ICU/CCU.She wants to help prepare the unit for JCAHO, and set up educational opportunities for the staff, based on staff needs.She also wants to improve orientation program for ICU, as well as help recruit staff for open positions in the department.In her free time, Paula enjoys time with her family, reading, and spending time at bookstores.In the summer, she also enjoys attending Renaissance Festivals throughout Michigan and Ohio.A lifelong Monroe resident and the mother of three children, Bill, Dave, and Kortney, Paula recently welcomed her first grandchild, Mason, who was born in December.
