Mr Greg Lane, currently Director of Strategic Industry Initiatives with the Queensland Department of Employment and Training will take up his position with the Queensland Resources Council in April.
QRC Chief Executive Michael Roche said the organisation's increasing focus on education and training would be strengthened by Mr Lane's appointment.

Mr Lane has had a close association with a review of TAFE Queensland Mining Services and was responsible for his department's establishment of Aviation Australia Pty Ltd, now an internationally recognised training centre of excellence for the aviation industry at Brisbane Airport.
He will be responsible for QRC programs encompassing an education program for primary and secondary schools, careers awareness programs, the new Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy and growing interaction with tertiary education and training providers.
‘The QRC has laid out a challenging agenda to address the skills shortage and under Greg Lane's stewardship we are looking forward to continuing our work with governments and communities to give more Queenslanders the opportunity to work in the state's leading industry sector,' Mr Roche said.
