In September, 1982, Mr. Charles V. Lane resigned as trustee of Immaculate Conception Church after serving 18 years.According to Canon Law, each parish may appoint two lay trustees to act as advisors to the pastor.During his term of service, Mr. Lane helped to review the plans and designs for building the new church in the late 1960's.He also served as financial advisor to the pastor.In this capacity, he was instrumental in negotiating the purchase of the Syracuse-Chenango right-of-way through the church property.Charles Lane's service to his parish started long before he was appointed as trustee; he had been an usher for 42 years.
