Martha Lotz Lando, 84, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Carriage Hill Nursing Home in Spotsylvania County.

Mrs. Lando, born in Utica, N.Y., was a former resident of Albany and Schenectady, N.Y., and Hyannis, Mass.

Following a series of strokes in 1995, she moved to her son's home in Fredericksburg.

She was a 1936 graduate of the University of New York, Albany College of Pharmacy, with a degree in pharmaceutical chemistry.

She was a member of the New England Watercolor Society and won many prizes for oil and watercolor paintings.She was also a hospice chaplain at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.

She was the widow of Santino F. Lando.
