Any quotes attributed to Kara Lamb or Kara L. Lamb regarding Reclamation and water resource management are actually THIS Kara Lamb.Kara began her work in public relations with a three-year stint out in California, schlepping comic books. It was an excellent experience for her, teaching her many skills she has since come to utilize on a daily basis. There she learned the art of marketing, promotional and technical writing, creative project development and oversight, contracting and and licensing, as well as conflict-resolution, inter-agency liaising, and networking. When the small publisher for whom she worked was acquired by Marvel Entertainment, she returned to graduate school in pursuit of a career focused on one of her earliest loves: environmental protections and management. After three years, she emerged from Colorado State University with a Master's Degree in Environmental Ethics. She has maintained a finger on the pulse of water and energy resource management, development, protections and policy ever since. For the past ten years, she has worked with Reclamation as that agency has reconstructed its mission as a federal agency, focusing more on water resource management and development and being more economically and, most importantly to Kara, more environmentally responsible. On a daily basis, Kara works with the general public, politicians, specialized agencies and entities to help them get more from their government, be it better communications in general, or a better understanding of what the governmental bureauacracy provides, why, and how. Working in partnership with groups like Trout Unlimited, the Roaring Fork Conservancy, the Colorado White Water Association and many others, she has helped people gain access to favored recreation spots, develop positive working relationships with federal water managers, and stay in touch with day to day operations that impact people's daily lives. If you would like to view a copy of Kara's current resume, or ask her questions about water development in Colorado, please send her an e-mail: klamb@gp.usbr.gov.
