Lisa joined the RSA Family in 2003. She is currently teaching developmental cheerleading and cheer tumble classes at RSA and she is the Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Normal West High School.
Background: Lisa was a cheerleader for middle and high school for 6 years, a competitive cheerleader for Gymnastics Academy for 4 years. Lisa also tumbled during her time as a cheerleader. As a coach, Lisa taught gymnastics at the Rockford YMCA for 1 year before moving on to the Gymnastics Academy to teach all of the classes in the cheerleading program.
Favorite Moment: Lisa's favorite moment was her very last national cheerleading competition as a senior in high school. She and her best friend based together and go so emotional they were both crying during their last stunt.
Lisa has met so many kids with potential but they don't try because they honestly believe they can't do it. She wants her students to:
remember most importantly to have confidence in themselves look out for the "I Can't" Rule in her classes
Besides the enjoyment of cheerleading, Lisa enjoys cooking, watching movies, dancing, music, and working out
Something interesting to know:
Lisa won the gold medal at the 2000 summer Olympics in Sydney swimming the 100 Butterfly. KIDDING! ! ! Through all the years Lisa has spent tumbling and cheerleading she was injury free, she actually broke her foot walking freshman year of college. Lisa received a 4.0 grade point average last semester. Kudos! To Lisa -
