Big Stone County Commissioner Jeanne Krueger has been honored with the 2002 Dean and Director's Award for Distinguished Contributions to the University of Minnesota Extension Service.She received the award recently at a conference in St. Cloud.Krueger is serving her second year as chair of the Association of Minnesota Counties Extension Committee.She was cited as a strong advocate for the Extension Service through her involvement in county, regional and statewide Extension programming.She has been involved with Extension through 4-H, leadership programs and the Extension Citizen's Advisory Committee."As a county commissioner, Jeanne has helped strengthen ties between Extension and county government, particularly in gaining support of the Association of Minnesota Counties Extension Committee for moving from county to regional bases for Extension educators," said Charles Casey, Extension dean and director.

Krueger is the first woman to be elected Big Stone County commissioner, and is now completing her third term.She is a recent graduate of the Blandin Foundation Leadership Program.She is also a graduate of Project LEAD, an Extension Service leadership program. She has served as one of the commissioners on the Big Stone County Extension Committee since 1991.She served on the Minnesota River Cluster Advisory Committee and the Dean and Director's Advisory Committee.She is a 15-year 4-H leader and is on the Big Stone County 4-H Federation Advisory Committee.
