While we didn't have as many tasters as Chef Rick with a line stretching across the entire Firestone Meadow, there was a never ending group poised around our tent talking with Alicia, John, Dan, Carolyn, Danielle and a mixed bag of other Casa Cassara pouring volunteers.
Alicia had done a spectacular job of presentation (at least five star) with bottles of all the latest vintages that will be released in the next few months plus samples of all the older wines that are still available. There was significant interest in the remaining bottles of Burning Creek as well as our Syrah.
At about 2:30, John Krska, our vineyard farmer and winemaker was interviewed by Gabe Saglie of KEYT.
...
Gabe asked John about his transition from winemaker at Babcock to winemaker at Casa Cassara, his transition from working among the vines to managing one of the biggest and most successful vineyard farming services in the valley, and his ability to master so many different areas of grape growing and winemaking.
...
John pointed out that most of the best wines in the valley are now created by people who work both in the fields and in the winery because it takes a mastery of both of these areas to produce truly great flavors with depth and breadth.
