SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Susquehanna University has named Kathy Kroupa head women's soccer coach, director of athletics Pam Samuelson announced Thursday.
Kroupa has served as an assistant coach for the previous five seasons under Jim Findlay, who will coach the men's team only after leading both the men's and women's teams for the last seven years.

For the past four years, Kroupa has served as head softball coach at Susquehanna and has compiled a 66-52-1 record with the Crusaders, including two trips to the Commonwealth Conference playoffs.In 2006, she was named conference Coach of the Year after guiding Susquehanna to a 22-12 record.Kroupa will continue to coach the softball team in addition to the women's soccer squad.
"Kathy has done an exceptional job with the softball team over the past few years, and I am confident that she will enjoy similar success with the soccer team," said Samuelson.

A native of Weston, Conn., Kroupa played goal at Gettysburg from 1991-94 and still holds school records for career saves (418) and shutouts (26.5).
After graduating from Gettysburg in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Kroupa earned a master's degree in counseling psychology from Radford in 1998.She resides in Milton.
