    Chris Kroupa was elected to the Ferry County PUD Commission and joined the Energy Northwest Board of Directors in January 2005.He currently serves as President of the Ferry PUD Commission Board.

    His interest in public power began with his father, who was a PUD commissioner for 28 years.He also had a strong desire to do public service and contribute to the community."Being on the Energy Northwest Board of Directors is an unexpected, but welcome, opportunity to be even more involved in current and future energy solutions.I am very interested in the renewable energy projects, the gasification project, and the possibility of new nuclear projects," he said.

    Commissioner Kroupa is a former school board member.He also currently serves as Commissioner for Ferry County Fire District 14 and as a Director of the Ferry County Housing Authority.He owns and operates Kettle River Pottery.His work has been displayed in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Michigan, and Alaska.Photos of his pottery have been published in various trade magazines, and he has a piece on permanent display in the Renwick Gallery of American Art at the Smithsonian Institute.Mr. Kroupa holds a B.F.A. from Washington State University and a M.F.A. from Michigan State University.

    He resides with his family in Curlew, Washington.
