    According to Michael Kramer , Bellcore's executive director for wireless and intelligent networking , one of the biggest trends in the wireless industry is a growing interest in mobile computing devices ( MCDs ) , such as laptop computers and handheld personal computers.

    SDH CONTRACT FOR ECI

    ECI Telecom has said it has received a US$31 million contract from Chinese local administrations in the Hunan province to supply SDH equipment.The Hunan Post and Telecom Administration ( PTA ) and a majority of the Hunan Post and Telecom Bureaux ( PTBs ) in China will deploy new networks with STM-16 ( 2.5 Gbps ) , STM-4 ( 622 Mbps ) and STM-1 ( 155 Mbps ) add/drop multiplexers.The equipment will be used to facilitate distribution of voice , data and video throughout Changsha ( Hunan's capital ) and 13 major cities across the province.ECI Telecom will begin delivery of equipment this month and expects to complete delivery within six months.
