    Co-chairpersons Gary Gage, Jerry Thiessen, and John Kramer did an outstanding job as they demonstrated the club rule that previous trial high point dog owners. (When you read the trial results below, please note the co-chairs for the May 2003 FUN Trial!) There is another club rule, unknown to most of us and quickly learned that blustery day, stipulating that club members who violate Fun Trial RULE 17, also must serve as co-chairs for the next trial!

    The SRSGDA club had 12 shooters in attendance including Jay Roach, Mark George, John ‘Doc' Kramer, Bart and Monica Dearborn, Dan and Pam Spickler, Ed Westbrook, Steve Huntington, Larry (Jay Roach's pinch shooter), and Jim and Mary McKinney.

    "High Hand" winner was John ‘Doc' Kramer who won a one-year membership to the Lewiston Gun Club - demonstrating his skill at drawing good cards. (So, how was his shooting?) Jay Roach, with similar skills in card selection, picked the "Second Place Hand" and won two braces at the next fun trial of his choosing within the next year.

    At a recent field trail a handler had completed his, brace kenneled his dog and went to lunch.Upon returning he found his dog dead.The diagnosis, HEAT STROKE.Not an unusual story told by hunters, field trialers and dog owners in general.As a veterinarian I have seen similar cases submitted by well-informed and uninformed dog owners.
