Doug Koch coordinated the raffle last year and has agreed to do so again. He is asking that each region provide at least $500 worth of items for the raffle. To spark your thoughts, last year had everything from autographed memorabilia, to ropes, handles, clothing items from World's, suits, training with a pro, a weekend ski get away, boat stuff, etc. Regionals coming up for everyone is a good time to solicit stuff.Perhaps each region could go together and provide a big ticket item like a Barefoot Suit.Or perhaps buying something from Lake Elmo Sports who is sponsoring Nationals.Just brainstorming.

If you would, please contact Doug (dougkoch@prtel.com) to let him know what you come up with.

    Thanks a bunch!

Ron Peck, Doug Koch, Tony Lang, Delia White, Bill Warren, Sicko Wayne, Gary Pyles and Alison, Gun and Dana, Jim Shur, Jim Macklow, and new guys Smoky and Bill found great flying conditions with smooth thermals to 12,500' - oh ok, maybe just 12,000'.
    ...
Quite a few of our members are taking flying trips to beat the heat: Delia traveled to faraway France for some great paragliding in the Alps; Ron Peck and Tony Lang took their significant others north to Alaska to find some 50-75 degree temps and cool flying (see photo below of Ron soaring above snow-covered peaks), and Doug Koch and Wayne O'Sick went to the Owens for some awesome Memorial Day weekend hanggliding.
    ...
January 27, 2007.....At our club meeting last week we elected new officers: Ron Peck was re-elected Prez, Doug Koch was railroaded into being V.P., and Delia White graciously accepted the position of Secretary/Treasurer.
    ...
Finally, in perhaps the most significant development of the recent past, Doug Koch towed up last week in a paraglider and managed to boat around for 15 minutes and land, somewhat ungracefully, near the spot.He steadfastly maintains, however, that hang gliding is an inherently safer means of flying.

Doug Koch, UMBWSA member, VP of the American Barefoot Club and a fellow board member of Craig's on the USAWS board, said, "We need to break down some of the walls that exist between sport divisions and this is an excellent way to start by a cooperative venture between the WSDA and UMBWSA."

Pete Beithon and Doug Koch, who were co-directors of the 2000 World Barefoot Waterskiing Championships, explained to the group that an event of this type is a bigger undertaking than what UMBWSA could handle.

School board member Doug Koch agrees.

they be two separate issues and voters need to decide what the priorities are, he previously said.I do not see the two as necessarily being in competition against each other ; the needs are there at both..
