Donald Koch received his engineering training at North Dakota State University at Fargo, N. Dakota.He started his engineering career in 1976, beginning in the temperature controls business.A practicing consulting engineer since 1978, registered in 1980, Mr. Koch joined JBA Consulting Engineers in 1986.A principal mechanical engineer and principal in charge since 1993, Mr. Koch has worked on a wide variety of projects, including schools, offices, hotel-casinos, hospitals, jails, military, industrial and laboratory facilities.
Mr. Koch was principal in charge and principal mechanical engineer for the Virgin Valley, Moapa and Laughlin High Schools, the Mesquite Justice Center, Henderson City Hall, Henderson Justice Facility, Clark County Family Courts building, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department 911 Communications Center, North Las Vegas Community Resource Center Facility, and the Juvenile Treatment Facility in Clark County, Nevada.

Mr. Koch was principal in charge and for principal mechanical engineer for the Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino, Bellagio Lowrise, Rio Phase V (43 story tower and casino expansion), 1989 Palace Station, Reserve Hotel Casino and Sams Town Goldriver expansion.Hospital projects have included the Central Plant, Surgery (operating room), Emergency Room, and Labor-Delivery-Recovery room expansions at Columbia Sunrise Hospital and three separate outpatient surgery centers in Las Vegas.
Military projects have included the National Guard Armory in Las Vegas, the Officers Open Mess at Nellis Air Force Base, and housing rehab projects at Edwards Air Force Base.
College facilities have included the UNLV Health Science Building, the Clark County Community College Theater and Culinary Arts/Computer training facility, and the Community College High Tech Centers at Palo Verde, Western and Carson City High Schools.
Industrial/Laboratory facilities have included the Nevada Power Co.Operations Center, Southwest Gas Operations Center in Tempe, Arizona, the Lockheed Analytical Laboratory, and maintenance shops for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Nevada Dept. of Transportation.
Mr. Koch is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers and is Past President of the Southern Nevada Chapter.Mr. Koch has provided expert opinions to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regarding smoking and indoor air quality, and is a voting member of ASHRAE Standard 62 Committee on indoor air quality.
