  International Conference of Turkology and the Prizes
  
  The International Conference of Turkology organized by the Turkiyat Research Institute of the Istanbul University will be held between November 8 and 12 in Istanbul at the Military Museum in Harbiye.Scholars from Turkey, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkic Republics and other foreign countries will read papers on Turkish language, Turkish literature, Turkish history, Turkish art and Turkish music.
  
  President Suleyman Demirel is expected to deliver the opening speech and several scholars will receive prizes for their outstanding contributions to Turkology.

  Timur: I think, that "matching-ancester" game in former USSR and China was as funny as french claiming themselves to be Celts, even though they aren't even as celtic as the Anglo-Saxons. As far as I know, the great split of the Turkic nation occured during the 6th century, having to do with Islamic and Chinese expansions.Did this incident cause the division between the Oghuz and the rest of the Turks?
