April Kobishop

Kobishop graduated with a near perfect grade-point average and earned her degree through a combination of courses offered on campus through the UW-Green Bay Adult Degree Program by the way of the Internet through both UW-Green Bay and the Wisconsin Collaborative Nursing Program.

Kobishop credits the flexible learning options available at UW-Green Bay for enabling her to pursue two dreams simultaneously -- working as a traveling nurse and earning a bachelor's degree.

She was a staff nurse in the critical care unit at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, before embarking on travel nursing in January of last year.

Kobishop has worked in Kenosha, Wis., and in La Jolla and San Diego, and she plans to continue travel nursing for at least another year.

"I believe travel nursing is a way that could solve the nation's nursing shortages, while offering other benefits to nurses," Kobishop said.
