Audrey Kobayashi (Geography) is known across Canada and around the world as a cultural geographer whose scholarly interest in how geography intersects with race and gender affects the design and implementation of public policy around race, immigration, gender, ability and sexuality.She played a highly significant role in the Government of Canada's formal apology to Japanese-Canadians and the establishment of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.Director of the Institute of Women's Studies at Queen's from 1994 , 999, Dr. Kobayashi has held several prestigious visiting fellowships at universities in London, England, Washington D.C., and Christchurch, New Zealand.
