A team of agents arrived shortly and cleaned up, but Helen had found her calling. Helen joined M-Force in the spring of the next year, and graduated from the Academy with flying colors. Her boss, the owner of Betsy's Gardens Florist and Boutique, is very supportive of Helen's time spent hunting monsters, although it took saving the shop from a swarm of giant locusts to convince Betsy. On that mission Helen earned the order of Kallinikos for her first monster kill. Over the years, Helen's minivan gained a reputation as the M-bus for carting the team to and from missions. In early 2001, Helen signed up for an emergency driving course with the Tennessee State Police. Although they were initially skeptical of a civilian with a minivan in their class, they were quickly impressed with Helen's determination to learn. By the end of the course, the state troopers were calling Helen their lucky charm, and after seeing her spin the minivan through three full rotations, one proposed marriage. Helen declined, instead choosing to send her daughters off to college and kick monster butt wherever and whenever she is needed.
