   The Phillies made room on the IronPigs roster for the return of Les Walrond Friday afternoon by trading pitcher Gary Knotts to Baltimore.
   
   Walrond, who was leading the International League in ERA when he was promoted to the Phillies on Aug. 2, was designated for assignment Thursday when third baseman Pedro Feliz was activated from the disabled list.
   
   He was expected to rejoin the IronPigs Friday night but there was no announcement when he would rejoin the rotation.

   Knotts was one of nine IronPigs remaining who have been with the team all season.He was 2-5 with a 5.32 ERA in 35 games, including 10 starts.
   
   The Orioles assigned Knotts to Triple-A Norfolk.

   NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- The Philadelphia Phillies acquired right-handed pitcher Gary Knotts from the Newark Bears on Tuesday.
   
   Knotts was 7-5 with a 2.65 ERA in 16 starts for the Bears, who play in the independent Atlantic League.He struck out 86 in 108 2-3 innings, and ranked first in the league in ERA, second in strikeouts and third in innings pitched.Philadelphia assigned him to Double-A Reading.
   
   Knotts was 13-16 with a 5.45 ERA in 38 starts and 48 relief appearances for Florida and Detroit from 2001-2004.
