In the second accident, Deputy Knoll, 37, riding a motorcycle, was responding to the accident at the train crossing when he plowed into the back of a white sedan that did not yield to his emergency lights at the intersection of South Main Street and Canal Bend Road.
The force of the crash pushed the sedan over Knoll, who was wearing a helmet, police said.Another deputy and three witnesses lifted the car off Knoll, who was also taken to Thomason Hospital.
