A native of Mississippi, Vic Knight received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Mississippi State University in 1997.He is a member of ASLA, the American Society of Landscape Architects.Before moving to Western North Carolina in 2000, Vic worked for Ed Stone Jr. and Associates (EDSA) in Orlando, Florida and was involved with projects including the Baltimore Zoo, Opryland Hotel Florida, and Wyndham Palace Hotel and Spa, located in Walt Disney World.

Vic worked as a consultant to Chimney Rock Park from 2000 to 2003 until he joined our team full time as the Park's Project Manager to oversee capital improvement projects and to manage the Trails Department.Vic was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2004 and now oversees all Park operations.

In addition to his role as V.P. of Operations, Vic is also Vice President of the newest Chimney Rock Company, the Chimney Rock Design Studio - a Landscape Architecture and Planning business.The mission of the Chimney Rock Design Studio is help clients go full circle in integrating the natural environment, economics and planning to create a unique sense of place.The Chimney Rock Design Studio's projects include work with The Health Adventure, an interactive children's museum in Asheville, NC, Grove Park Cove a new residential community near the historic Grove Park Inn, and Reynolds Mountain, a residential community in North Asheville.

Vic along with his wife, Angel and her parents, own Coffee Crumbs, a Coffeehouse, Bakery and Old Tyme Photography Shop, located in Chimney Rock Village.In his spare time, you might find Vic kayaking, hiking with his two dogs, painting landscapes or simply relaxing with his guitar.
