Knight has extensive experience at all levels of the REALTOR® organization.He currently serves on the Board of Directors of both NCAR and the National Association of REALTORS®, he is a member of NCAR's Executive, Finance & Budget and Investment Advisory Committees, he serves on the board of the N.C. Real Estate Educational Foundation and is a trustee of the N.C. REALTORS® Political Action Committee. During the last five years, he has served in numerous capacities, including as NCAR president-elect in 2004, as treasurer and chairman of the Finance & Budget and Investment Advisory Committees for 4 years, and as a director of the NCAR Service Corporation.Previously, Knight was a regional vice president and chairman of several other important NCAR committees. Knight has served as president and director of the Chapel Hill Board of REALTORS®, and as president, treasurer and director of the Triangle Multiple Listing Service.He was honored as the 1991 REALTOR® of the Year by the Chapel Hill Board of REALTORS®.Knight is a certified continuing education instructor approved by the N.C. Real Estate Commission and the N.C. Appraisal Board.Knight, who is a Burlington native, is an active volunteer in his community.He is past president of the Hillsborough Jaycees and the Daniel Boone Merchant's Association, and has served as chairman of the Orange County Inspection Department Advisory Committee, the Orange County Education Foundation and the Orange County Regional Telephone Task Force.Knight is a director of the UNC Public Education Foundation and past-treasurer of the Abundant Life Christian Academy.He also serves as chairman of the Orange County chapter of the N.C. State University Alumni Association.
