While overseeing the Double T Shoppe, Tech's retail outlet for athletic apparel and other merchandise, Tim Knight arranged for such items as miniature basketballs, caps and media guides to be shipped to The General's Store, which was operated by his mother, Nancy Knight.

The records show that, from Oct. 25 through March 23, Tim Knight or others in the Tech athletic department used the university's Federal Express account to ship 23 packages, weighing a total of 558 pounds, to The General's Store in Indianapolis or a Bloomington, Ind., residence identified as The General's Store and listing Nancy Knight as the recipient.

Tech Athletic Director Gerald Myers told the Star-Telegram on March 25 that he knew Knight had owned a store in Indiana relating to his father but had never studied the situation because he believed the store had closed.
"I don't think he's got that store in operation in Indiana," he said."I'm not real sure, but if he does, he's probably got it leased to somebody managing it for him.I don't know."
