  Based in Long Beach, California, Brenda Knepper has been a creative director and communications manager for almost two decades. Currently the director of university communications at CSU Dominguez Hills, she is also a freelance writer, graphic design instructor, and versatile artist who works in a variety of media - including calligraphy, digital and pen-and-ink illustration, photo colorization, and sculpture.
  
  Brenda credits several sources that served as inspiration for the Signs of Grace workshops: Ira Progoff's Intensive Journal method, Patricia McFall's Programs for Writers at CSU Fullerton, Christie Havey-Smith's Writing Grace workshop at Loyola, and the late Frederick Franck's Confronting the Human drawing retreat.
