When Rialto Police Chief Mark Kling announced in July that the city and DA's Office were looking to shut down the 60-member South Side Rialto gang, he pointed out that there are five schools in the gang's turf.

"This is going to help us interrupt the recruitment of younger children that have no other alternative but to join a gang," he said Friday.

Kling said he plans to work with the DA's Office for a second gang injunction in the city, although officials declined to name the targeted gang.

The court process has gone smoothly for Rialto's injunction, and the number of gangbangers attending court hearings has dwindled over time from seven to two.
