Barry Kirkpatrick is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and has been a practicing pediatrician for over 40 years. Dr. Kirkpatrick is a specialist in neonatal-perinatal medicine and in 1973 he established the first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in central Virginia, which by 1986 was one of the largest units on the East Coast. He has authored 7 book chapters in pediatric text books and published over 40 scientific articles and over 30 research abstracts. He is currently a member of the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the MCV Alumni Association Board of Trustees.
