The keynote speaker at the fourth Australian Olive Expo in Canberra this October will be world oil expert and academic Dr Apostolos (Paul) Kiritsakis from Greece.
Dr. Kiritsakis, who was born in the island of Crete, is a Graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece and of Michigan State University, USA.
He holds Master of Science and PhD from this University and has received the Fulbright Scholarship for post-graduate research in the States.
He is Professor of Olive Oil and Other Fatty Substances and Director in the School of Food Technology and Nutrition of the Alexander Technological Institution of Thessaloniki, Greece.He is the author of books on olive oil and co-author of several chapters.
Dr Kiritsakis' first book on olive oil, written initially in Greek, has received an award from the Academy of Athens, and has been published in English and Spanish.
Another book Olive Oil: From The Tree To The Table was also published in English.He has published many scientific papers in the area of olive oil and has participated in several international congresses.He has given a big number of seminars and talks on olive oil in many countries and is president of Fulbright scholars of Northern Greece.His name is included in the Who is Who in the world.
The Amenduni Australian Olive Expo, the largest olive industry event of the year, returns to the Exhibition Park in Canberra on Tuesday, 28 and Wednesday, 29 October 2008.
