Siro Kirit opposed the government in a rebel group for seven years. But that mission left him with no peace, until one day he met Gospel for Asia-supported pastor Hadi Rahman. After hearing about the love of Jesus, Siro decided to leave the rebel group and follow Jesus instead. Throughout the next few years, Siro was transformed into a dedicated believer and grew deep in his faith. Finally, he answered God's call to full-time ministry. Now, he serves as the leader at the local Bridge of Hope center (pictured here). So today, instead of yelling battle chants, he leads the children in singing praises to Jesus with pastor Hadi. The children love the fun action songs that tell of Jesus' love for them. Each morning, they get ready to start the day with a revitalizing worship time. As the children have seen their teachers' example of prayer-filled living, they are also excited to pray to Jesus at the beginning of each class. Through Siro's and the other Bridge of Hope workers' hearts to reach out the people in the village, God has brought many children to the center. The teachers and staff work hard to teach the students all the subjects they need to know like reading, writing and math. And if a student is having trouble with a particular subject, Siro and the other teachers take time out to help them work through the problem. In the afternoon, the children take a break to get exercise and have fun. As the children study and grow in their learning, they are also growing spiritually. Christ's love shows through Siro and the teachers at the Bridge of Hope center.
    ...
As they receive the tangible love of Christ they see in the workers and Siro, they can rest in the knowledge of a bright hope for the future-both here on earth and in eternity!

    Siro was happy to comply.

"I took out the Bible and started to tell him about what the Lord has done for us to save us," Siro said.

Every time the two men saw each other, Siro would continue telling his rebel friend about the love of Jesus.

Soon, through Hadi's consistent witness, Siro gave his heart to Christ. Today, Siro serves as a lay leader at a church in Assam where Hadi is his pastor.
