  Anton Kirchner is a digital photomontage artist who's work is characterized by seamless compositions and symbolist and surreal subject matter. Though his digital work is almost exclusively made of photographic components, his early years of painting in oils make much of his work read more like paintings than photographs. For the components in his compositions, Anton uses only photographs he has personally taken and often has heavily digitally modified and reproposed.

  Anton Kirchner is a digital photomontage artist whose work is characterized by seamless compositions and symbolist and surreal subject matter. Though his digital work is almost exclusively made of photographic components, his early years of painting in oils make much of his work read more like paintings than photographs. For the components in his compositions, Anton uses only photographs he has personally taken and often heavily digitally modified and repurposed.
  
  Since he began his transition to digital tools in 2002, Anton has exhibited his works across the United States as well as Italy and Germany. He lives and maintains his studio in Denver, Colorado and has traveled to many parts of the world to gather source photographs.

  Colorado artist Anton Kirchner will feature 12 recent large scale Artworks on canvas in two simultaneous One Person Shows entitled "Memoirs from the Interior". One will be held at The Next Gallery - 3659 Navajo - Denver, Colorado from Dec 1 to Dec 17.
  
  The other is a virtual Exhibition, which can be viewed at the Artrom Gallery website, www.artromgallery.com.
  
  In this photographic montage series, Kirchner separates and juxtaposes disparate images with a strong horizontal line which cuts across many of the works, provoking the mind to reflect and find relationships with the images which are not immediately apparent, operating sometimes at subliminal dreamlike levels of consciousness.

  Kirchner considers himself a painter of light. This light permeates his work and at times this illumination seems to come from deep within to provide an unusual depth to his impeccably crafted pieces.

  Anton Kirchner is an artist who began painting in 1966 and was eventually intrigued and then captured by the potential of creative expression offered through the new digital technologies. His current works testify to a courageous and proper choice for his evolution as a contemporary artist. His winning work "Dream of Consciousness 7" clearly demonstrates his abilities to use this medium to create subtlely charged environments which arouse reactions within the viewer.

  Anton Kirchner
  
  Anton Kirchner was born in 1952 in Hieldesheim Germany and grew up in Chicago where he began painting in 1966. Anton switched from oils and acrylics and now works totally in the digital domain using primarily Photoshop and Corel Painter. He produces monotypes and limited edition prints using a photo montage technique.
