IU coach Barry King and the water polo players were confident they were going to be an improved and more prepared team in the Elite Six Tournament this past weekend. In College Park, Md., the tournament featured the top two teams from each of the three divisions of the Collegiate Water Polo Association.
The No. 20 Hoosiers had a perfect finish of 4-0, defeating Brown, Maryland, No. 15 Hartwick and No. 18 Princeton, improving their season record to 9-7.
King said more than one or two factors contributed to the team's success.
"We put a lot of pressure on people on other teams with our counter attack and had a lot of good scoring opportunities," he said.

Though there is still a long road ahead of the Hoosiers, King said he is content with the team's performance.
"We wanted to solidify our defense, be quicker defensively, and to put pressure on the shooters," he said.
